Abstract

Khwaja Noor-ul-Hassan Tarik Owaisi was a distinguished Sufi poet whose poetry reflects a profound blend of spirituality, moral instruction, literary beauty, and rhetorical excellence. His poetic expression is deeply rooted in Islamic mysticism, love for the Holy Prophet , ethical refinement, and the reformative spirit of Sufi thought. The present study offers a brief analytical examination of his poetry with special reference to the classical disciplines of rhetoric and poetics, particularly Ilm al-Bayan and Ilm al-Badi‘. His verses reveal remarkable artistic command through the effective use of literary devices such as allusion, metaphor, simile, symbolism, repetition, and rhetorical ornamentation. The study argues that Tarik Owaisi’s poetry is not merely devotional expression; rather, it is a meaningful literary discourse that combines Sufi wisdom, moral consciousness, and artistic craftsmanship in a highly effective poetic form.
